Ewing Reservoir

Great Outdoors, Hiking Trails, Horseback Riding

Located a quick drive out of town, this is an easy and enjoyable walk around a beautiful, undisturbed reservoir, especially lovely at sunrise or sunset during the heat of summer. It’s an excellent location to fish for largemouth bass, sunfish, crappie, and trout. (Ernie’s True Value, located at the turnoff on State Highway 3 before heading out to the reservoir, stocks plenty of fishing gear for the unprepared!)

A supporting community group FEET (Friends Enjoying Ewing Trails) has built 1 mile of single track and anticipates building more soon. There are currently picnic tables and grill areas, plus a rustic bathroom, but FEET plans on building another 10+ miles for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use, plus updated and expanded facilities. Check in with The Watershed Center for updates.
