You've sturck gold! When you visit the Jake Jackson Memorial Museum you will experience a treasure chest of historical artifacts from California's Gold Rush Era.

Histoty buffs and students alike will be able to imagine the frontier days with the collection of life style pieces from local tribes, Chinese immigrants, gold mining equipment, and everyday items used by early settlers. The site includes a history research center, geneologcial library, an operating blacksmith shop, a standing ditch tender cabin, an operational gold mining stampmill and a collection of wagons and carriages among many other interesting displays. Visitors can also enjoy the outdoor grounds along the creek with a cool shady setting complete with picnic benches.

Situated at the south start of Historical downtown and the, museum is within walking distance of local shops, gift stores, restaurants and parks.

It is home to a History Center for the Trinity County Historical Society who spreadheads projects in resortation and preservation of local artifacts and data.

Amoung other annual activities, a popular draw boasts local blacksmiths who use the replicated shop to produce items for sale in the Museum’s Gift Shop and live demonstrations for school tours, bus tours and holiday weekends. Blacksmithing classes are taught under the sponsorship of the California Blacksmith Association. Please call Museum for more info on class times.

Whether you find yourself here during an on or off season make sure you catch the always available self-guided walking tour. Starting at Jake Jackson Museum the tour will take you up and down Main Street highlighting many of Weaverville's historical attractions. Outdoor Grounds open Daily until 5:00 PM
Museum open daily Memorial Day- Labor Day 10:30 AM- 4:30 PM
Wednesdays- Saturdays 11:00 AM- 4:00 PM during the rest of the year
